Kate serves as a Senior Policy Analyst at CBHDA. She grew up in El Paso, TX and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Southwestern University and her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin. During her PhD, she studied how pathogens disrupt early brain development. Prior to joining CBHDA, Kate served as a California Council of Science and Technology fellow in the Assembly Privacy and Consumer Protection Committee, where she analyzed and drafted policies pertaining to artificial intelligence, privacy protections, and consumer rights.
